Caring for our grandmother turned into responsibility - this is how SeraVitaCare began
She was a person full of strength, love and pride - someone who was there for others her whole life. But over time, many things became more difficult for her: everyday life, mobility, being alone.
And at some point, the question arose that sooner or later concerns many families:
How can we ensure that she is well looked after - without her having to give up her home?
For our grandmother herself, the answer was clear from the start:
Se wanted to stay. Within her own four walls. In the home that she had built with her own hands, filled with memories and filled with life.
Moving away - to a care home, to a new environment - was difficult for her. It was not easy to find an apartment.
It was their living space, their retreat, their home. We informed ourselves.
The nursing homes were overcrowded, the waiting lists long, the staff at their limit.
And as much as we appreciate the work of these institutions, it was not what we wanted for them.
And above all, it was not what she wanted for herself.
So we made a joint decision to provide 24-hour care at her home.
And our grandmother was no longer alone, she was at home.
The carer who moved in with her became more than just a help. She became familiar - almost like part of the family.
She knew how our grandmother liked her tea, knew her stories, sensed when she needed closeness and when she needed peace and quiet. A connection developed, a warmth that you can't ask for. Our grandmother blossomed. She was safe. She was not alone.
She was - at home.
What we have experienced
It was a great relief for us as a family. It gave us peace of mind to know that someone was there whom we could trust - and whom our grandmother also trusted.
This experience had a profound impact on us. It was the catalyst for founding SeraVitaCare, so that other families also have the opportunity to have their relatives cared for well and with dignity at home.
